How much do I adore it? During the free month of Nitro, I played and beat this game's main campaign, played the Survival Challenge over and over for nearly the whole month, then bought the game full price on Steam just to show the Devs how much I love this charming, beautiful work of art. The main campaign is short, but very enjoyable with an emotional story. The writing isn't anything legendary, but the charm is overwhelming and the characters are incredibly lovable. The world-building is both compelling and delightful.The actual gameplay is a bit out of my normal genre. 2D platforming has never been something I'm very good at, but taking Kirin's Boots helps make it a far more managable issue. The interactions between wildlife make for interesting strategy, though the animations can make it somewhat difficult to tell when mobility is returned and when the player is touching the ground to dash away.I ended up remapping the keys and the game does play better with a controller, but keyboard play is perfectly fine.If you enjoy the core campaign, Survival is a great next step, though it is infinitely less forgiving about taking damage which was a hard shift for me.Overall, my only complaint about this game is how short it is. At $20, it's a good bang for your buck but I want MORE. DLC for more maps, creatures, judges, characters, and more content in general would be an insta-buy from me.Best wishes on this and any future productions from this team!
